Recycling Guide - Electronics

Without electronic devices, our everyday lives would look completely different. This has made many things much more pleasant. But what happens to the devices when they are no longer useful?

Larger appliances such as washing machines, tumble dryers or ovens are usually taken away free of charge by the supplier when you buy a new one. But what happens to all the small electronic waste? On average, every Swiss household has several kilos of old cables, six defective small devices and at least two old cell phones.

Electronic waste is a valuable source of secondary raw materials. Almost all known metals are used in electrical devices today. Not only steel, copper or aluminum, but also precious metals such as palladium, gold and silver are increasingly being used in modern electronics and without the extremely rare rare earth metals no smartphone would work.

Every piece of cable, no matter how inconspicuous, belongs in the collection bag. Give the broken iron or burned-out toaster the chance of a second life as a new product.

No annoying queuing at the disposal point. Simply throw the electronic waste into the collection bag and have it conveniently picked up.

We ask for your understanding that we cannot take large appliances with us when collecting subscriptions. If in doubt, just ask briefly.
