Recycling Guide - PE bottles

Contrary to popular belief, numerous other plastics can be recycled alongside PET. The prerequisite for this is variety purity. PE is usually found as bottles for milk, detergent or shampoos. But PE is also used extensively in everyday life as shrink or welding films.

Distinguishing between different plastic films, collecting them separately and disposing of them correctly is almost impossible in everyday life. That's why around 80% of plastic waste still ends up in household waste incineration. That's a shame, because around 50% of mixed plastics collected can be processed directly into high-quality granules and thus replace petroleum-based virgin material. Downcycling and other applications increase the rate to around 65%. Granules made from plastic waste only require around half the energy compared to new production from crude oil. When 1kg of plastic is burned, around 1L of oil is lost and up to 3kg of CO2 is released.

At WeRecycle, if it looks like plastic, put it in the collection bag. We take care of the sorting.
